Improving Your Eyelashes With Extensions

Posted on

Having long and lush eyelashes can be an important part of your facial features. To help achieve this look, many individuals will decide to have extensions placed on their eyelashes. These extensions can have a dramatic effect on your look, but it is always advisable to spend time familiarizing yourself with what you should expect from these extensions.

Eyelash Extensions Can Be Water Resistant

Unfortunately, there are some individuals that may not choose to get eyelash extensions due to the assumption that they will rapidly deteriorate as a result of any exposure to water. However, there are water-resistant eyelash extensions that will be able to withstand regular exposure to moisture. This can allow you to shower and bathe while minimizing the amount of wear that the eyelash extensions suffer. However, you may still want to avoid getting in swimming pools as the intense chlorine in them can degrade the adhesive that holds the eyelashes in place. Additionally, saltwater can also be harsh on these adhesives, which means that those wearing these eyelashes should avoid bodies of saltwater if they are wanting to preserve their extensions.

Eyelash Extensions Will Need To Be Reapplied

Modern eyelash extensions are extremely durable accessories, but they are not a permanent change. Rather, they will eventually need to be reapplied if the person is to maintain the results. In most cases, these extensions will be able to last for a few weeks before they will need to be reapplied. The reapplication process will be relatively simple, but the technician will need to take some time to safely remove the previous eyelashes by dissolving the adhesive that holds them to the skin. In addition to protecting the person's natural eyelashes, this step can also reduce the amount of discomfort that is experienced during the removal of the eyelash extensions.

You Should Minimize Use A Mascara With Your New Eyelash Extensions

Some individuals may decide that they want to use mascara while they are wearing their eyelash extensions. However, this is something that should be generally avoided as it can be difficult to effectively remove the mascara. In most cases, the mascara will not be needed as the eyelash extensions will achieve the look that you are wanting. In situations where you have decided to wear mascara with your eyelash extensions, you should make sure to only use mascara that is designed for use with eyelash extensions. These products will generally be significantly easier to remove so that you can be less likely to accidentally pull the lash extensions loose.
